Overall Aim: 

 

To enable learners to obtain and maintain their knowledge and skills in the application of evidence based safe principles and practices, suitable for the movement and transfer of patients using the Cricket Transfer and Transporting Aid.

 

Learning Outcomes: 

 

  1. Recognise key differences between a passive patient hoist and active Cricket Transfer and Transporting Aid and how it works.
  2. Be able to identify the need through undertaking an appropriate real time clinical assessment of the patient immediately prior to each use.
  3. Demonstrate appropriate verbal and non-verbal commands.
  4. Decontamination.

 

Assessment: 

 

Direct observation of practice with formal assessment of practical competence.

 

Participants: 

 

This course is designed for staff that are required to use the Cricket Transfer and Transporting Aid.

 

Prerequisites: 

 

Learners’ must have previously attended manual handling training in accordance with Trust Mandatory Training and Manual Handling Policies.
